Statue of Vulcan in Birmingham, Alabama

Vulcan, as seen above, is the largest and heaviest cast iron statue in the world, standing 56 feet tall and weighing in at over 100,000 pounds. Made entirely of cast iron, designed by Italian sculptor Giuseppe Moretti, the statue was created for the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis, Missouri, to symbolize Birmingham's iron and steel industry.

I will graduate from U.A.B. in May of 2026 with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Management. The University of Alabama at Birmingham offers a unique college experience, as it sits in the heart of Alabama's busiest metropolitan area.

The extensive course load at U.A.B. helps produce some of the most well-rounded graduates in the Southeast. One notable feature is how the university uses the city as a classroom, preparing students for the hustle and bustle of the corporate world.
